As a Teacher and Coach…
I am an artist and have been all of my life. Creating and expressing myself through art is my great joy. I also know what it’s like to struggle as an artist – doubting my worthiness and questioning my calling. So, it’s my honor to provide a safe place for other artists to develop their authentic style as they open their hearts to the the creative process. Knowing firsthand the trials and triumphs of an artist’s life, I’ve developed effective strategies to live into these realities and have passed these on to artists I’ve coached for over 10 years. I believe everyone can find joy in creating art, and I would love to help you do the same.
As a Painter…
My works are anchored in strong design and use values of limited color and mark making. Often inspired by nature, my pieces display the melding of light, shapes, and color, inviting the viewer to look, and look again as their eye moves around the painting.
Joan holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas Tech University which earned her an all-level, lifetime teaching certificate. She taught art in public, private, and homeschool cooperatives; overseas in Russia, India, and Mexico; and in churches and inner city programs for over forty years.
Her work has won numerous regional awards and is enjoyed in homes and businesses across the country.
